Discussion and possible direction on the proposed update to the Community Development Department – Planning Division’s proposed Fee Schedule.

Background:

In April of 2013, Staff was directed by the Board to create a simplified Fee Schedule that included the Zoning, Planning, and Building Code Fees.  The currently adopted Fee Schedule does not include the calculations for the Building Safety Code Fees.

On December 2, 2014, Staff presented the proposed Fee Schedule to the Board.  There was discussion about the increases proposed, but no firm direction given to staff.

Staff is preparing an itemized cost for some fees that are in question, to show actual cost to the County.  We would like to meet again with the Board for their mutual direction on further action.

Discussion between the Board and staff regarding the proposed consolidated Fee Schedule, with direction to staff on future action.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

Community Development Staff will not have clear direction on how to proceed.
