Discussion and possible direction on which activities/projects to pursue with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding from both the Regional Account and State Special Projects Account.
Background:
Approximately $350,000 is available to Cochise County from the Arizona Department of Housing CDBG Program for FY11. The County may also competitively apply for $300,000 from the State Special Projects Account. CDBG funds must be used to benefit low-income persons and areas, alleviate slum and blight, or address an urgent need.
Proposed Outcome: Based on public input received at two CDBG public hearings to be held prior to this work session, the Board will provide direction on which activities or projects to pursue with the available CDBG funding. The Board may also propose other activities or projects within their respective districts.
