Discussion and possible direction to staff regarding development and implementation of a water grant program for residents of Cochise County under A.R.S. 11-254.09.
Background:
A.R.S. 11-254.09 enacted earlier this year allows a Board of Supervisors to establish a program to allow persons to make gifts, grants or donations for the purpose of providing financial assistance to qualified owners of residential real property for making improvements to an existing drinking water well or providing for a water delivery system for the residence.
Chairman Searle requested staff draft a water grant program for review and possible implementation by the Board prior to the end of this calendar year.
