Continued discussion and possible direction regarding the Library District Bookmobile service.
Background:
Bookmobile service was not included in the Library District budget for FY 2016/17, but the service continued through late December 2016, when the vehicle used for the service broke down. The BOS held a work session to consider the future of the service on February 21, 2017.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
If approved, the Library District will move ahead with suspending bookmobile service and working to find new ways to serve rural patrons.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If bookmobile service is not suspended, the Library District will continue to rely on contingency funds to provide the service. This is not sustainable.
