Discussion and possible direction from the Board of Supervisors to staff on a proposed Special Event application process for organized events within the County’s jurisdiction.

Background:

The county does not currently have a defined Special Events application process for organized short duration events. Staff uses the Commercial Permit application process that was designed for commercial projects and not special events. A Special Event application will provide applicants with a streamlined process for receiving approval of their special events. An approval process will notify county departments of such events and allows for the allocation of resources.
