Discussion and possible direction regarding Pre-trial Diversion Medication Assisted Treatment Funds.
Background:
The purpose of this funding is to provide an avenue for low level drug offenders to receive needed treatment as opposed to incarceration. These services will include detoxification through participating medical providers, treatment and counseling. The program would work in harmony with our current Diversion programs.
Proposed Outcome:
To decrease recidivism and the cost of prosecuting and housing of low level drug offenders.
