Approve gas line utility easement for the City of Wilcox at the Cochise County Service Center (“CCSC”), 450 S. Haskell Ave, Wilcox, AZ 85643.
Background:
During the remodel of the Wilcox JP 4 Court and CCSC, we discovered that the City of Wilcox did not have a utility easement for an existing natural gas line. The easement is needed for the City of Wilcox to perform maintenance and other work on its gas lines, and to ensure that no permanent structures are built over them.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Once approved, the easement document will be recorded and copies will be sent to the City of Wilcox.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
The utility easement is needed for the City of Wilcox to have legal access to its utilities. If not approved, the City of Wilcox cannot install meters for gas service to the CCSC in Wilcox, or otherwise legally work on its gas systems, leaving it without recorded easement protections.

Send executed easement document to the Cochise County Recorder’s Office to officially record. Send one copy of recorded document to the City of Wilcox and one copy to Facilities.
