Discussion and possible direction regarding the upcoming Census 2020 and establishment of a Cochise County Complete Count Committee, coordinating efforts with Cochise County municipalities.
Background:
Discuss how it is essential that everybody in Cochise County is counted in the 2020 Census. U.S. Census Bureau Partnership Specialist, Emily Verdugo, will brief the Board of Supervisors and answer any questions concerning the upcoming Census. To help increase participation in the Census, Emily is currently coordinating efforts with Cochise County and incorporated municipalities to establish a Complete Count Committee.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Opportunity for the BOS and attendees to become aware and ask questions concerning the upcoming Census 2020 and provide guidance towards the establishment of a Complete Count Committee. A Resolution to participate in the Complete Count Committee will be presented to the BOS at a regular BOS meeting and move forward as the Board directs.
