Discussion and possible direction regarding the Boeing Starliner Proposed Landing Plan - Willcox Playa project overview, impacts/hazards to the community, an overview of the risk mitigation plan, and resources being requested of the local government.
Background:
At the end of December 2019 Boeing Starliner intends to land a space capsule on the Willcox Playa in support of the national space program and international space station. This project is the first of its kind on land and will be a unique endeavor for Cochise County. Due to the significant impact on local government services and resources as well as the assessed significant interest to the community writ large Boeing would like to brief the County Board of Supervisors. This briefing will include a project overview, impacts / hazards to the community, an overview of the risk mitigation plan, and resources being requested of the local government.
