Approve Agreement with the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records to accept and use the BTOP II grant equipment at each of the following branch libraries: Sunizona, Jimmie Libhart (Bowie), Sunsites, Elfrida and Myrtle Kraft (Portal).

Background:

BTOP II ( Broadband Technology Opportunities Program Round 2) places desk top computers in 200 libraries in Arizona, including the 7 City Libraries and 5 Branch Libraries in the Cochise County Library District. These computers are designated "Virtual Workforce Workstations".
The VWW is a stand-alone, desktop computer with an attached all-in-one laser printer (Print/Copy/Scan/Fax), for use by library patrons who are looking for jobs. The computer should allow patrons to have significant time online to apply for jobs, develop computer and job searching skills, and pursue educational opportunities such as studying for a GED or taking other online classes.

Library District staff will install all equipment and software at the 5 Branch Libraries.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

We won't get equipment.
