Discuss the possible purchase of a Photovoltaic (solar) generation system.
Background:
There are numerous companies in Arizona that design, build, operate, maintain and finance these types of projects. Should the decide to move forward with a project of this type, the principal benefit to the County would be to stabilize its price for electric power for the life of the contract which is usually 20 years. At the end of the contract, the County could purchase the system for its appraised value or require the company to remove the system art its expense. Should the County elect to purchase the system, the generated power would be the property of the County and be used to offset the cost of utility provided power.

The Board of Supervisors approve the concept and direct staff to prepare and issue a RFP for the project.
