Approve a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) supporting the Proposed Sun Corridor Trail, among Arizona State Park and Trails, and the counties of Pima, Cochise, Mohave, Coconino, Maricopa, Pinal and Yavapai.
Background:
The Sun Corridor Trail is a proposed long-distance, regional trail linking significant urban, suburban and rural trail systems beginning at the southern border of Arizona, traveling from Douglas, through the Tucson, Phoenix and Flagstaff areas, and finishing in Las Vegas, Nevada. A map of the proposed Trail is attached to this agenda item. In order to support the proposed Trail, the Arizona State Parks and Trails Department has asked all the counties through which the proposed Trail will run to sign this MOU.

Any interested Supervisor may engage with other supervisors around the State, and other partner organizations, to promote the Trail.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Cochise County will not be expressing support for the Sun Corridor Trail.
