Approve demands over six months to Arizona State Land Department in the amount of $54.68 for penalty and interest on Lease No. 023-094344-05, Bella Vista grazing.
Background:
On February 8, 2021, Arizona State Land Department emailed us advising that an internal audit revealed Cochise County had not submitted payment for penalty and interest for Bella Vista grazing Lease No. 023-094344-05. This billing was handled by various departments prior to the Flood Control District being responsible for managing all billing inquiries. Due to this, Arizona State Land Department is requesting payment for fiscal year 2018 penalty and interest costs. These costs were incurred August 27, 2018, to October 2, 2018, resulting in demands over 6 months.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
If approved, invoices will be paid immediately. A copy of the minutes will be attached to the invoices and kept in the vendor file for audit records.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If not approved, invoices will remain unpaid and considered past due by the vendor and renewal of lease maybe terminated.
