Discussion and Possible Direction for potential partnership with the Humane Society of Southern Arizona for County animal shelter services.
Background:
Over the past two years, the Board has directed staff to seek partnerships with municipalities and non-profits for animal shelter services. The Humane Society of Southern Arizona is interested in pursuing a long-term partnership with Bisbee, Douglas and Cochise County to improve and expand shelter operations.
Proposed Outcome: Direct staff to continue with contract agreement negotiations and develop a resolution formalizing Board support for these discussions.
