Agenda Item Text:
Approve the Justice Court Precinct Boundaries map as the Commission’s recommendation to the Board of Supervisors.
Background:
Justice Court precinct boundaries are presented as currently drawn. No changes were suggested. The number of Justice precincts is based on productivity credits. When one JP court exceeds 1200 productivity credits, the BOS must create another court, or redraw precinct boundaries to reduce the productivity credits in the precinct that exceeded the limit. Cochise County's largest JP court is JP -5 in Sierra Vista. In FY2020, JP-5 had 820 credits, therefore a change is not necessary.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Advance the map to the Board of Supervisors as the Commission's formal recommendation.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
None.
To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:
None at this time.
