Approve Amendment 5 to Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) ADHS18-180472, Arizona Prescription Drug Overdose Prevention Program, between the Arizona Department of Health Services and Cochise Health & Social Services in the amount of $470,720, effective September 1, 2021, through September 29, 2022, to revise the rates and terms of the IGA.
Background:
The original Overdose Prevention Contract with ADHS was approved November 2017. This grant amendment will continue to support expanded prevention-based strategies, enhance linkages to care, the peer navigation contract, the overdose fatality review tasks, public health social work resources to county inmates; and support data collection, analysis and reporting for localized trends in opioid use disorders aligned with public health best practices. The deliverables Cochise County provides to ADHS and the total annual IGA amount remain the same as amendment 4. Amendment 5 makes changes to the line items on the price sheet - no other changes were made. The total amount of the IGA is not impacted.

- Receive notification that IGA has been fully executed and ready for approval in ADHS Portal
- Budget Amendment prepared by Program Manager
- Receive Purchase Order from ADHS, send Budget Amendment, Fully Executed Contract, minutes of BOS meeting where IGA was approved, and PO to Finance for entry into New World.
- IGA and Budget Amendment are processed by County Finance.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Not approving this grant amendment due to the budget revision, where there is no total budget impact, would not allow us to bring on the approved Epidemiologist for the Fatality Review.
