Approve a comment letter intended for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) regarding that agency's Solar Energy Draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS).
Background:
The Solar Energy PEIS is being prepared by the U.S. Department of Energy, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Program and the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management in order to assess environmental impacts associated with the development and implementation of agency-specific programs that would facilitate responsible utility-scale solar energy development in six western states, including Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, and Utah.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
If approved, the letter will be forwarded to the BLM and would be included in the public comments section of the Solar Energy PEIS.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If not approved, the comment letter will not be forwarded to the BLM.
