Approve Renewal of Grant GRA-STATE-19-0968-01-Y5 between the Early Childhood Development and Health Board (First Things First) and Cochise Health & Social Services, for child care health consultation, in the amount of $103,320, effective July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023.

Background:

This renewal is to continue funding that will be used to provide Child Care Health Consultant services to 38 childcare Quality First (First Things First) centers an increase from 29 the previous year. This program provides a healthcare consultant to enrolled childcare centers focusing on child development in the birth to five population.
 
Child care health consultants support early care and education programs by:
  1. Providing on-call support, in-house trainings and helpful resources
  2. Promoting health and safety best practices
  3. Offering responsive, customized assistance
  4. Providing information for families and referrals to additional health resources in your community
  5. Assisting in creating health and safety policies
  6. Building supportive relationships
  7. Working as a team with childcare programs, families, local public health agencies, etc.
