Approve donation of 2012 Ford F150 pick-up truck, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) ending in 74755, from the Sheriff's Assist Team to the Cochise County Sheriff's Office.

Background:

The Sheriff's Assist Team wishes to donate a 2012 Ford F150 pick-up truck to the Sheriff's Office.  The truck will be assigned to the Special Operations Division.  The vehicle is in good condition and already has emergency equipment installed.  It is set up as a canine vehicle and may be used for that purpose again.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

If approved, the Sheriff's Office will assign the vehicle to a deputy to use in the field.  

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

If not approved the Sheriff's Office will need to locate and outfit another vehicle to use.

Although there are no initial costs of the donation there will be ongoing cost to maintain the vehicle. The current Fleet mileage fee is 56 cents per mile. We can expect about 30,000 miles per year resulting in a projected maintenance cost of $16,800.00 annually.
