Agenda Item Text:
Authorize the Development Services Director to enter into an amendment to previously-approved Grant Agreement GRT-22-0008516-T between Cochise County and Arizona Department of Transportation, Aeronautics Group, for the surface treatment of taxiway A2 at the Bisbee-Douglas International Airport, said amendment to increase the grant amount from $25,202 to $212,926.70 and the matching fund requirement from $2,520.20 to $21,292.67.
Background:
On March 22, 2022, the Board approved Grant Agreement GRT-22-0008516-T (Agreement). The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is preparing an amendment to increase the dollar amount of the awarded grant. The grant match requirement is 10% ($21,292.67). No other changes will be made to the Agreement. Board approval is required at this time so that staff may promptly pay the required matching fund.
This grant is provided by ADOT's Airport Pavement Preservation Program for maintenance projects such as crack seals, seal coats, thin overlays, and joint repairs to runways, taxiways, and aprons at airports.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Staff will sign the grant agreement and process payment for the match requirement.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Lack of maintenance of taxiway A2 pavement will result in a decrease in the useable life of the pavement before resurfacing the taxiway is required.
To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:
Nothing. Staff will sign the grant agreement.
