Agenda Item Text:
Approve the Design Contract for Bay Acres Floodplain Mitigation Project with JE Fuller Hydrology & Geomorphology, Inc., in the amount of $261,791.
Background:
The Bay Acres subdivision was developed before State statutes requiring floodplain regulations. There were no construction plans for dealing with floodwaters through the subdivision. Instead, the developer built earthen berms to protect the Bay Acres development and these berms have eroded over time. In 2021 the Flood Control District contracted with JE Fuller to analyze and provide a design concept report (DCR) to mitigate flooding. This contract is to design the recommendations from the DCR.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
ENR will proceed with obtaining the Purchase Order for the consulting services for this project.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If not approved, ENR will not have design plans to mitigate flooding in the Bay Acres area.
To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:
Please forward signed agreement to Teresa Garcia.
