Adopt Resolution 22-28, consideration of the establishment of the Cochise County Jail District.
Background:
State statute (A.R.S. §§ 48-4001, et. seq.) authorizes the Board of Supervisors to establish county jail districts for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, operating, maintaining, and financing county jails and jail systems.
This Resolution establishes the process for the Board to decide whether to order establishment of the Jail District, following a duly-noticed Public Hearing. Additionally on November 15, 2022, the Board will receive a recommendation from the Jail District Public Outreach Committee, to which the Board appointed members on July 26, 2022.
