Agenda Item Text:

Approve Scope of Work with JE Fuller Hydrology & Geomorphology for the implementation of the ALERT Flood Warning System, in the not to exceed amount of $83,871.

Background:

Cochise County is in the 10th year of the ALERT System Program to collect and compile rainfall data for the purpose of early flood warning throughout the county. The Board-approved five-year plan to build-out this network of 21 stations and one repeater was completed last year including new stations in Cascabel, Muleshoe Ranch, Dos Cabezas Mountains and Kartchner Caverns. The sensors transmit real-time rainfall data via radio frequency to the Mule Mountain tower facility where it is rebroadcast to the existing statewide ALERT system. The planned activities for previous years have been completed and funding for the maintenance of this system for the next two years is requested.
