Approve Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) and Cochise County Flood Control District for the maintenance and ownership of eight ALERT precipitation gauges throughout the County, effective upon signing.
Background:
This IGA will allow the County Flood Control District to take over the ownership of the eight ADWR ALERT precipitation gauges located throughout the County that have been maintained by the County for a number of years. These gauges are an important part of a network of early flood hazard warnings to residents in the County.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Continue maintenance of existing ALERT stations throughout the County.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
An important segment of precipitation gauge monitoring network may not be functional.
