Docket SU23-06 (Scott Hip Camp) A request for a Special Use Authorization to establish a campground (Guest lodging).
Background:
The Applicant is requesting a Special Use Authorization to establish a campground (Guest lodging). The plan includes two (2) Calistoga wagons refurbished into lodging, two (2) 26 foot tall tipis, and six (6) campsites.
The applicant is proposing to construct a single family residence on the property. The home will be approximately 900 square feet with a 400 square foot garage. Either the Applicant or a care taker will stay at the residence to monitor the campground.
A storage/tool shed of approximately 384 square feet will be constructed and a future bathhouse also of approximately 384 square feet will be provided. Outside of the future bathhouse, no other hook ups are provided (dry camping).
The applicant has split the 36 acre lot into four (4) nine acre lots. The improvements proposed with this Special Use will be located on one of the nine acre lots.
Section 607.01, Guest lodging A building or group of buildings furnishing rooms or an area for accommodation for overnight or short-term lodging such as a hotel or motel, resorts, guest ranches, group camps, and campgrounds and may include recreational facilities, restaurants, meeting rooms, or similar facilities. This definition does not include Recreational Vehicle Parks or Bed and Breakfast land uses.
