Hold a public hearing of the Flood Control District to receive public comment on proposed updates to the Cochise County Floodplain Regulations.
Background:
The Floodplain Division is proposing to update and revise the Cochise County Floodplain Regulations to bring them up to date with the requirements of the Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) and the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) per the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The Floodplain Regulations were initially adopted in 1984 and revised several times since then.
Updates include: the addition of definitions and standards (Section 5.9) for Agriculture Structures and Agriculture Accessory Structures; revised definitions to comply with ADWR model ordinance; and require all habitable structures be elevated a minimum one foot above highest adjacent grade.
