Discussion and possible direction regarding County animal shelter agreements and projects.
Background:
On June 27, 2023, staff updated the Board on the progress of the Tovreaville Road shelter remodel project. At that meeting, the Board requested staff to investigate the potential for other shelter agreements and operations to enhance the capacity for CCSO to impound animals throughout the county. Staff will update the Board on discussions to date and provide greater detail on the Tovreaville Road project.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Staff will bring the contract for architectural design to the Board for approval at a future meeting, and formulate agreements with other agencies as directed by the board for more shelter options.
