Agenda Item Text:
Approve Amendment 1 to Grant Number ADOA-DBF-ELEC-01, between Arizona Department of Administration and Cochise County, to extend the grant agreement through September 30, 2023.
Background:
The AZ Legislature approved money to test the feasibility of creating ballots with fraud countermeasures. This Grant is to test the ability to create and tabulate ballots with one or many countermeasures.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
to have the three vendors to create as many of the countermeasures identified in ARS. Then to test the ability for the tabulation machines to tabulate these ballots. A report is be written and provided to the Legislature.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
The Grant process stops with no data to provide to the AZ State Senate
