Approve Community Enhancement Fund expenditures for District 3 to support the City of Willcox transit program, in the amount of $20,000.
Background:
Willcox provides free transportation through a new transit program that covers all surrounding county areas and small communities. The funding was cut short for the next two-year cycle and after a conversation with SEAGO, I have been assured that $20,000 is what they will need to cover the shortfalls to operate this service for the next two years, until the proper funding can be secured.
There has been a reference made to funding that has been secured for Douglas area transit in the past and I am imploring the Board to approve this much needed support at this time for Willcox area.
