Discussion and possible direction to the Emergency Management Department regarding the potential drafting of a County burn ban ordinance and firework ban ordinance.
Background:
USFS, BLM, NPS, USFWS, and DFFM meet weekly as the "Zone Board" during fire season to determine if a burn ban shall go into effect simultaneously for all respective jurisdictions. A proposed County burn ban could mirror Zone Board's decision and be in effect for all of Cochise County. Also discuss a proposed fire work ban to accompany burn ban.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Direction from the Board of Supervisors to Emergency Management, and County Attorney's Office to draft Ordinance on Burn Ban and/or Firework Bans.
