Information
Agenda Item Text:
Approve Amendment 1 to the Law Enforcement Agency - Opioid Funding Agreement, AG23-0021a, between the Arizona Attorney General's Office and the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, previously approved by the Board on December 27, 2022, to extend the termination date of the Agreement from June 30, 2023 to December 31, 2023.
Background:
The Cochise County Board of Supervisors approved this agreement on December 27, 2022. The purpose of this extension is to allow the Sheriff's Office more time to spend the funds on opioid prevention and education.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
The Sheriff's Office will continue to work with procurement to obtain public outreach materials. These funds will also be used to fund outreach overtime with the focus on opioid abatement.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Cochise County will have to return the unused portion of this allocation.
To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:
Please return two signed originals to K. Bradshaw for transmission to the Attorney General.
