Information
Agenda Item Text:
Approve Amendment 1 to Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) 23-14-ED with Arizona Department of Education (ADE), and the Cochise County Educational Service Mental Health Consortium, decreasing the total grant from $1,288,990 to $542,865.58 pursuant to the revised budget, effective upon execution.
Background:
This grant was originally approved at the 10/11/22 BOS Meeting. It is providing funding for the Cochise Educational Service Agency (CochisESA) Mental Health Consortium. The consortium provides mental health training to school employees, students, parents and community members in Cochise County. The Consortium also augments services schools provide for special needs students. Grant funds have been utilized to hire one Psychologist Assistant, one Mental Health Specialist, one Technician to assist the specialist, and a Mental Health Director. This amendment is reducing the amount we will spend in salaries, travel, and equipment, and budgeting for two contracted School Psychologists to oversee the Psychologist Assistant.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Current staff working under the Mental Health Consortium will continue providing services with this amended budget.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Our budget with ADE will not align with the County.
