Approve the award of Invitation for Bids (IFB) No. 12-27-HFP-04 for the Noland Road Improvements Project for Community Development to ABC Asphalt LLC in the amount of $433,811.88.
Background:
The scope of this project is to provide all material, labor, and equipment required to improve 2 road miles of Noland Road from a dirt primitive road to an all weather chip seal road. The Engineer’s estimate for this project was $425,000. The project location is in eastern Cochise County, southeast of San Simon, Arizona, off Interstate 10, Exit 382. IFB No. 12-27-HFP-04 was prepared and released on April 30, 2012. The bid was advertised in the San Pedro Valley News from May 2-9, 2012. Bid notices were mailed to 75 Contractor’s registered in the procurement database, and the bid was posted on the County procurement website. An on-site job walk/pre-bid meeting was held on May 17, 2012. Seven (7) bids were received by the IFB closing date and time of May 31, 2012, 4:00 p.m. The recommendation is to award the Bid Alternate #2 (Base Bid and Chip Seal Work). A bid tabulation is attached.
