Presentation and discussion by Chinn Planning Inc. on the Draft Report of the Cochise County Jail Planning Study.
Background:
Cochise County engaged Chinn Planning Inc. to conduct a comprehensive Jail Planning Study to include an assessment of the criminal justice system, inmate population forecasts, operational concepts, facility space requirements for a new jail, and evaluation of potential sites.
On March 11, 2025, Karen Chinn of Chinn Planning Inc., and Larry Smith & Gary Retel of DLR Group, provided a presentation to the Jail District Board of Directors on preliminary results of the study.
Following the March 11th presentation, a Draft Report has been prepared for review and input by the Board of Directors and Couty’s Technical Advisory Committee (TAC).
A presentation will be provided to the Board of Directors on the Draft Report and any input will be incorporated into the Final Report.
