Docket R-25-01 is a staff-initiated text amendment to the Cochise County Zoning Regulations, specifically Sections 2.03.030 (Definitions) and 2.24.050 (SR Permitted Accessory Uses), adding an Antiquated Subdivision definition and amending allowed Single-Household Residential District accessory uses.

Background:

Docket R-25-01 is a staff-initiated amendment to the Cochise County Zoning Regulations, specifically Sections 2.03.030 (Definitions) and 2.24.050 (SR Permitted Accessory Uses), adding an Antiquated Subdivision definition and amending SR zoning district accessory uses. Although this is staff-initiated, it is in response to direction received from the Planning and Zoning Commission as well as the Board of Supervisors to initiate a change in the zoning regulations to add flexibility to accessory use allowances in SR districts with four or more acres. If approved, the amendments would allow accessory structures to be built prior to and exceed the size of residences on parcels zoned SR consisting of at least four acres and with a zoning district requirement of at least four acres that are located in subdivisions identified as antiquated.
