Approve transfer from the County Capital Projects Fund contingency to the Facilities Department to replace (4) ductless mini-split systems and (19) gas pack units at the Juvenile Detention Center located at 100 Colonia de Salud in Sierra Vista, in the amount of $317,230.23.
Background:
The HVAC units that are currently being used at the Juvenile Detention Center need to be replaced due to their old age. It is the Facilities Management Department's recommendation to replace the current HVAC units to prevent further system failure.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Move funds from contingency, issue a purchase order to Carrier, and begin scheduling the work.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
The current HVAC units will continue to fail, leaving occupants without proper cooling or heat.
