Approve the resignation of Merit Commission member, Elda Orduño.
Background:
A.R.S.§ 11-353 A. states in part, "the board of supervisors shall appoint a county employee merit system commission to assist in administering the system. The commission shall consist of five members, and B. Members of the commission shall be selected from among the qualified electors of the county. No more than three of the members shall be from the same political party." Ms. Orduño has relocated and is no longer eligible for Merit Commission membership. She has submitted her resignation accordingly.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Seek Board of Supervisors approval to appoint a new Merit Commission member.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Not approving Ms.Orduño's resignation will not alter the fact that she is not eligible for the Merit Commission.
