Agenda Item Text:

Reappoint Philip Issacson to serve as the Green Building General Contractor on Building Code Advisory Board for an additional four-year term to expire on September 25, 2029.

Background:

Mr. Isaacson was appointed to the BCAAB in December 2015 and has served three terms. His reappointment to the Green Building General Contractor position is for a four-year term to expire on September 25, 2029. The BCAAB unanimously recommend approval of his reappointment at their August 21, 2025, regular board meeting.

The Cochise County Building Code Advisory and Appeals Board was established in September 2013 as a seven-member board to hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by the Building Official regarding application and interpretation of the adopted building codes; to determine the appropriateness of alternative building materials and construction methods and to advise the Building Official and Building Safety Division on proposed revisions or additions to adopted building codes.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

Following a favorable reappointment, staff will notify Mr. Isaacson of this action.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

Should this reappointment not be approved, the Building Code Advisory and Appeals Board will lack a Green Building General Contractor board member.

To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:

Please notify Development Services staff of the BOS action.
