Discussion and possible direction regarding current animal sheltering across Cochise County and the County Sheriff's proposal for a County-operated animal shelter.
Background:
Obtain Board of Supervisors direction regarding the Sheriff's proposal for a County- run animal shelter. The proposal requests the county purchase the Marsh Development property located in Huachuca City and fund future operations. The County currently has 1.9 million allocated to match a $1.1 million grant from the USDA for the construction and renovation of a county building for an animal shelter.
