Information
Agenda Item Text:
Approve Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) CTR068849 Amendment 2 between Arizona Department of Health Services and Cochise County Health & Social Services for Sexually Transmitted Infection Investigations, in the amount of $57,866.50, effective January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2028.
Background:
CCHSS Clinical Services division has been completing sexually transmitted infection investigations in coordination with ADHS since FY 2020, with the goal of addressing the increasing and epidemic cases of STIs throughout Cochise County. CCHSS's approach builds upon infrastructure to provide surveillance, epidemiology, case investigation and prevention related to STIs.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Will continue to implement evidence-based strategies in STI investigation and follow-up to assure the prevention and control of STIs throughout Cochise County.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If not approved, CCHSS will not be able to complete required STI investigations pursuant to ARS 11-952 and will not be able to address the increasing cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis, as well as the statewide outbreak of syphilis and congenital syphilis.
