Information

Agenda Item Text:

Approve Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) 25-0011315-I, Leslie Creek Bridge Project 8115 (Leslie Canyon Rd Mile Post 16.9) Scoping Project, between Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) and Cochise County, in the amount of $146,165, with a County match of $8,835.

Background:

These project funds were awarded through the ADOT Off-System Bridge Program (OSB). The purpose of the OSB Program is to fund the Scoping for replacement or rehabilitation of bridges that are not on the Federal-aid highway system (local roads or rural minor collectors). Per the ADOT Bridge Inspection Report this bridge has a sufficiency rating of 47.4. This is a 1-lane bridge built in 1928 for the local ranchers, residents, and visitors of the Leslie Canyon area, approved by the Cochise County Board of Supervisors and built by County authorities, not by Arizona Highway Department. Very rare instance where the local government built a bridge without State involvement.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

ADOT will finalize IGA and initiate project. IGA to be DocuSign.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

IGA will be returned to ADOT and project canceled.

To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:

If approved, ADOT will send a DocuSign document of the IGA to the Board for signature.
