Adopt Resolution 12-39, cancelling the Ash Creek District #53 Governing Board Election for two 4-year-term board seats up for election and appointing the two candidates (Jessica Dilworth, Greg Lee) who filed to run in the election to fill the open board positions, with all the powers and duties of that office as if elected to that office, effective the first day of January, 2013.
Background:
Election Statute 15-424 D. If only one person files or no person files a nominating petition for an election to fill a district office, the board of supervisors up to seventy-five days before the election, may cancel the election for the position and appoint the person who filed the nominating petition to fill the position.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Remove election from the November 6 ballot.
