Adopt Resolution 12-53 canceling the Pirtleville Fire District Board November 6, 2012 election for the three 4-year board seats up for election and resolving that the board positions are hereby declared vacant, effective the 1st day of December 2012, to be filled by the Board Members at that time.
Background:
A.R.S. 48-802 (D)(4) provides that the Board of Supervisors may cancel the election for Fire District Governing Board seats and appoint the person who filed nomination papers to fill the position when the number of positions is equal to or more then the number of persons who filed nominaton papers.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Notify the Pirtleville Fire District of the cancellation of the election and declaration of vacancies.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Pirtleville Fire District would incur the cost of an election.
