Agenda Item Text:
Adopt Resolution 12-68 canceling the San Pedro Valley Hospital District Board November 6, 2012 election for the three 4-year seats up for election and appointing William Bernal to one of the three vacant seats, with all the powers and duties of that office as if elected to that office; and, resolving that the other two board postions are hereby declared vacant, effective the 1st day of January 2013, to be filled by the Board Members at that time.
Background:
A.R.S. 48-1908 provides that the Board of Supervisors may cancel the election for a Special District Governing Board seat and appoint the person who filed nomination papers to fill the position when the number of positions is equal to or more then the number of persons who filed nomination papers.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Notify the San Pedro Valley Hospital District of the election cancellation; appointiment of Willaim Bernal and declaration of Board vacancies.
