REQUESTED ACTION:
MOTION TO APPROVE: The MTECC Operating Fund Budget and Capital Project Fund for fiscal year 2023-24.
WHAT THIS ACTION ACCOMPLISHES:
This provides the budget authority for MTECC Operating Fund and the MTECC Capital Project Fund for fiscal year 2023-24.
SUMMARY EXPLANATION/BACKGROUND:
The MTECC Operating Fund Budget and MTECC Capital Project fund for fiscal year 2023-24 continues to be a work in progress as we implement the first two projects to be implemented by MTECC.
This is an exciting time as MTECC begins to provide the services for members within the mission for MTECC for the design of complete streets projects in the cities of Deerfield Beach and Hallandale Beach.In addition, MTECC staff have been advised that the cities of Hollywood and Pembroke Pines plan to request MTECC support for two LAP design projects in the fiscal year for projects that being in state fiscal year 2024-25 starting in July 2024.We are also working on several HUB projects funded through the Federal Transit Administration that should begin in late Spring to Summer 2024 in Fort Lauderdale and Pembroke Pines.One last project under discussion is a possible U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grant for the City of Coconut Creek.
This will require a number of budget amendments during the year to add funding grants and city contributions to support the delivery of these projects.These budget amendments plus supporting documents such as the funding grant agreement, project agreement between MTECC and the member, plus negotiated design word orders and related items will be attached to the proposed budget amendments.
The assumed revenues included the City of Fort Lauderdale that has the MTECC Interlocal Agency Agreement on a workshop for September 19, 2023 and the Commission meeting on October 3, 2023.
The proposed Budget has been updated since the prior draft version.The key changes are in yellow highlights on page 5 and 6 of Exhibit A in the fiscal year 2023-24 column.
