Report From Partner Agencies - Strategic Intermodal System (SIS) 2045 Cost Feasible Plan (CFP)
SUMMARY EXPLANATION/BACKGROUND:
Florida’s SIS, established by Florida Legislature in 2003 (F.S. 339.61), is a statewide network of high-priority transportation facilities including airports, highways, railroads, seaports, spaceports, and transit. Planning for the SIS is guided by the Florida Transportation Plan (located here: www.floridatransportationplan.com), the long-range transportation plan for the state of Florida, and the SIS Policy Plan (located here: http://www.fdot.gov/planning/ftp/SIS-PolicyPlan.pdf).
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) plans for the SIS in coordination with MPOs and other partners. For additional SIS Resources, including an atlas showing the location of SIS corridors, hubs, and connectors in District Four and across the state, please see http://www.fdot.gov/planning/systems/documents/brochures/default.shtm#maps.
In June 2017, FDOT adopted the SIS 2045 Multimodal Unfunded Needs Plan (MMUNP), identifying capacity and mobility needs across modes on the SIS. In July 2017, FDOT began developing the SIS 2045 CFP. This plan, which covers fiscal year (FY) 2028/29 to FY 2044/45 and is based on 2045 revenue estimates, identifies projects for SIS highway facilities. The SIS 2045 MMUNP and the SIS 2045 CFP are important resources for the Broward MPO to consider as it develops its 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP).
FDOT staff will review the SIS highway projects in District Four included in the draft SIS 2045 CFP at the meeting and questions and comments will be addressed. For the PowerPoint presentation, please see the Attachment. FDOT staff will also have hard copies of draft tables and maps available at the meeting.
