REQUESTED ACTION:
MOTION TO RECOMMEND BROWARD MPO APPROVE an Interlocal Agreement (ILA) Between the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Municipalities of Hollywood, Plantation and Pompano Beach for the Creation of the Metro Transportation Engineering & Construction Cooperative
WHAT THIS ACTION ACCOMPLISHES:
Approval of this item, and upon MPO final execution of the ILA, will constitute the creation of a separate legal entity and establish the Metro Transportation Engineering & Construction Cooperative (MTECC) for the purpose of administering both Federal Aid Projects and transportation projects completed without the use of Federal funding (Local Projects).
SUMMARY EXPLANATION/BACKGROUND:
Staff will present the history and background of the formation of MTECC and the proposed ILA (provided in Attachment 1). For the PowerPoint presentation, please see Attachment 2.
MPO STAFF RECOMMENDATION(S):
MPO staff recommends approval of the proposed ILA with Hollywood, Plantation, and Pompano Beach for the creation of MTECC.
