National Highway Institute (NHI) Training Opportunity
SUMMARY EXPLANATION/BACKGROUND:
The National Highway Institute (NHI) serves as the training and education arm of the Federal Highway Administration. NHI offers a variety of training opportunities to transportation professionals and those involved with the industry. Members of the CAC can also take advantage of some of these training opportunities from NHI to bolster their knowledge of the transportation planning process and gain a greater understanding of how it works.
One training course that may be of particular interest to CAC Members (especially new ones) is NHI's "Basics of Transportation Planning." This free online course is four hours and covers transportation planning requirements, techniques, planning processes, and identifies key stakeholders and their roles, responsibilities, and relationships. At the conclusion of the training, participants should be able to:
At the upcoming CAC meeting, staff will briefly present this information to the CAC. For the PowerPoint presentation, please see the Attachment.
