REQUESTED ACTION:

MOTION TO APPROVE Membership Appointments to the Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board (LCB)

WHAT THIS ACTION ACCOMPLISHES:

Approval of this action will appoint members to the LCB.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION/BACKGROUND:

The purpose of the LCB is to identify local service needs and to provide information, advice and direction to the Community Transportation Coordinator (CTC) on the services to be provided to the transportation disadvantaged. The CTC for the Broward region is currently Broward County Transit. Rule 41-2 of the Florida Administrative Code (FAC) establishes membership positions on the LCB. This action is ministerial and complies with Rule 41-2, FAC (see Attachment 1), and will allow the LCB to fill the vacancies that exist in the LCB membership.

The LCB unanimously recommended the following appointments for approval at their September 18, 2023 meeting:
  • Florida Department of Children & Families
    • Maria Chiari as the primary member (see Attachment 2)
    • Natasha Parks as the alternate member (see Attachment 2)
  • Representative Persons Over 60
    • Sam Cox as the alternate member (see Attachment 3)

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION(S):

The LCB recommends approval of the appointments.

MPO STAFF RECOMMENDATION(S):

MPO staff recommends approval of the appointments.
