REQUESTED ACTION:
MOTION TO APPROVE the Assignment of Agreement No. 24-01 Between Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization and Cherry Bekaert Advisory LLC for Financial and Accounting Services for Metro Transportation Engineering and Construction Cooperative (MTECC)
WHAT THIS ACTION ACCOMPLISHES:
Approval of this item will authorize the MPO to assign Agreement No. 24-01 to the Metro Transportation Engineering and Construction Cooperative (MTECC), which will assume the obligations of the MPO under this Agreement going forward.
SUMMARY EXPLANATION/BACKGROUND:
The Metro Transportation Engineering and Construction Cooperative (MTECC) was created in order to facilitate the design and construction of Federally aided transportation-related projects throughout Broward County. The MPO has provided administrative services support to the Metro Transportation Engineering and Construction Cooperative (MTECC) to aid in its establishment. As part of this, during fiscal year 2022-23, the MPO procured Financial and Accounting Services through an Agreement with Cherry Bekaert Advisory LLC (for the Agreement, please see Attachment 1). The Cherry Bekaert Advisory LLC team supports MTECC with finance and accounting services, including accounting, financial statements, periodic financial reports, and interaction with the external auditor.
With MTECC now established and able to assume the overall project management and contract administration duties for the MTECC Financial and Accounting Services Agreement, MPO staff are requesting to assign Agreement No. 24-01 for these Services to MTECC. MTECC staff concur with this request and approved of the Agreement assignment during their March 13, 2025 meeting. For the MTECC resolution in support of this, please see Attachment 2.
The proposed Assignment of Agreement No. 24-01 for Financial and Accounting Services from the MPO to MTECC is provided in Attachment 3. MPO and MTECC staff will be available at the upcoming meeting to address any questions or comments.
